We’re proud to announce the promotion of Yuan Han Li to Partner.
Yuan has excelled across all aspects of our business, from sourcing, selection, and stewardship to recruitment, mentorship, and fundraising. Most importantly, he thinks about his role and contributions as one part of a broader team effort where every person, contributor, and component plays an important role.
Yuan demonstrates immense dedication, persistence, and a panoramic view of global innovation that brings an invaluable perspective to our research table. His ability to consider details while maintaining a strong sense of creativity and intuition adds a visionary element to his investing style. He believes strongly in the founders and companies he introduces to the team, balancing a thoughtful approach to aggregating opinions with a willingness to take a non-consensus stance. This has led to powerful investment decisions in companies like EigenLayer, Risc Zero, and Celestia that have contributed greatly to where our firm is today.
Yuan has also been instrumental in encouraging talent and providing a positive space for our founders. He is incredibly tuned in, building strong, lasting relationships that are crucial to providing the kind of support needed at every stage of growth. Within the firm, he’s always working to support other team members, freely offering time and support and striving to maximize firm performance as a whole. Despite being the youngest promotion to partner in BCAP’s history at the age of twenty-five, he’s proven to be an excellent mentor. As one team member remarked, “When Yuan starts explaining something to me, I know enough to let him take me down the path of his thoughts and just listen. He’s brilliant to the point that I won’t know where he’s taking me, but I know I’ll have a brand new perspective when we reach the end of the path.”
This promotion is a milestone—one of what will certainly be many in Yuan’s career—that is indicative of his devotion to his work. We are excited to have him grow with our team and look forward to seeing him continue his work at BCAP.
