John Filbert is the Controller and Compliance Specialist at Blockchain Capital. He joined the firm in December of 2021. John is responsible for overseeing and managing the finance and compliance operations of the firm. He plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, monitoring of investments, and ensures the firm complies with relevant industry rules and regulations and accounting standards.

Before joining Blockchain Capital, John worked at Foundation Capital. John managed the finance and accounting operations of the firm. Prior to Foundation Capital, John worked in a management role at a back office group and held senior associate roles at both national and international public accounting firms, last at Grant Thornton in the Cayman Islands. John worked closely with clients in the financial services industry, including broker-dealers and private capital funds.

John received a B.S in Business Administration from California State University, Chico and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in the State of California. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor and fitness-focused activities, like running or an urban hike through the city with his dog.
